The Chinese new year is now almost here and this year it is the Year of the Dragon so Kung Hei Fat Choi to all of our suppliers in China and any Chinese associates or customers.

Many of our promotional products are made in China although stocked here for printing, so ensuring a fast turnaround and some control here over the final quality of print. However, with ever faster production times from the factories we are able to make products completely to order in China. This applies to some hi-tech products such as

promotional flash drives as well as other items including promotional badges and printed lanyards.

The Chinese factories will almost all be closed from 21st January to 29th January while they are all celebrating. We are pleased to take orders and enquiries for these factories but please be aware that there will be a delay during these dates. Deliveries of any corporate gifts from UK or European stock are unaffected. Please contact us if you have any queries regarding delivery schedules.

We were pleased to welcome the Director General of the British Promotional Merchandise Trade Association (BPMA) to our offices to discuss a wide rane of issues currently affecting the business gift industry for the first time since we were awarded Charter membership. Among the topics discussed were the latest reserach proving the effectiveness of using promotional products as well as the benefit of having a professional showroom for the benefit of clients. We are charter members of the British Promotional Merchandise Association, a long established accredited body of top professional companies. A recent survey from the bpma on perceptions of those receiving business gifts showed some powerful results particularly against other advertising spend. Promotional gifts can deliver a higher or equal ROI than most forms of advertising.

66% of respondents said they could remember the brand on the promotional item they received during the last year. 79% said they were likely to do business with the company that gave the business gift in the future. 8 out of 10 (84%) respondents said that a branded business gift increases brand awareness. 56% of respondents said their opinion of the brand/company was more favourable after receiving the promotional gift. Promotional gifts deliver!

The survey also found that the USB stick comes top of the list as most useful promotional item, followed by electrical items and writing instruments.

And most interesting of all, is how long recipients keep promotional gifts for particularly if they are useful. Consider how this compares with other advertising messages that are often short lived.
